End of Day 7

Scripture of the Week

"Jesus looked up into heaven with a deep sigh."

I have looked over this passage time and time again. Reading, but really not looking, and then just the other day, I noticed it. Jesus signed? But why? Shouldn't he have shouted with joy I wondered, or even just a smile? Then I remembered a book that I read before called, "When God Came Close" by Max Lucado. He was as perplexed as me when he first noticed that little word in there. Max speaks of this passage also, and I am not going to quote from it, but our feelings and thoughts are very similar.

Look at what Jesus does. He speaks with this man in private, pulling him away from the crowd and tells him what he is about to do with hand gestures, then he looks up into heaven and sighs. Our God, our Lord Jesus Christ who was 100% human and 100% divine sighed because it was not meant to be for him to be our intercessor. He was not supposed to be the go between for us and our Father. This was a sigh of sadness and disparity.

God sighs because he misses his family, his friends, and his children.

He died on the cross because of this sigh. He died on the cross so once again we would not be separated from him.

God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, so whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

All you have to do is believe.

More to come!

As of right now this page is not complete, but be sure to check back very soon because we are going to have in depth word studies of this passage. This means we will be getting down into the Greek to learn what on these words. This is called Exegesis.

Till then, study, study, study! A Christian must learn as much as possible, and in this day and age of online resources, and material, we have no excuse to be "cardinal christians"!

Prayer

Lord, I come to you to bless all of those who venture onto these pages, may you soften their hearts, open their eyes, and unclog their ears so we can learn as much about you as humanly and divinely as possible. You are our bread, and our life. In your Mighty, and Heavenly Name, and in the Great I AM I pray, Amen.
